Reason For Learning

Many everyday substances can be classified as either Acid or Base. You can probably identify some acids already like the acid in citrus fruits ( citric acid) or the acid in vinegar ( acetic acid). You might find it more difficult to identify bases. One you may have heard of is ammonia, which is in many cleaning products. So what makes a substance an acid or base?
