Stem and leaf plots: median, mode and range

Reason For Learning

Stem and leaf plots are a convenient way to visualise data and can also be used to locate the mode and median values. These values are important because they tell us about where the middle of the data lies or which is the most common value that occurs so that we can make conclusions or investigate patterns within the data.

Learning Intention

Calculation of range, median and mode values for data presented as a stem and leaf plot.
