Geometry: Cartesian plane reflection and rotation

Reason For Learning

When describing rotations and reflections about a point (or line), it can be useful to describe that point using Cartesian coordinates. This learning bite shows you how to do this. Also, this skill is useful in General Maths, where translations form part of the course. In Maths Methods, reflections are addressed in the graphing components of the course.

Learning Intention

Representing rotations and reflections on a Cartesian plane. For reflections, discuss reflections across axes and then, as an extension only, discuss reflections in the line y=x.
