Reason For Learning

Students will develop an understanding of China's history - in particular the 1966 Cultural Revolution - so they can put the film Mao's Last Dancer into more of a social and historical context.

Learning Intention

Through the analysis of various primary and secondary resources, students will understand the importance of the Cultural Revolution of 1966 and the role it played in shaping modern China.
