Geometry: Areas of odd shapes

Reason For Learning

It's often difficult to find the areas of more complex shapes, but there are ways to pull apart these shapes and use known formulae (rules) to calculate or estimate the area of the individual parts. These techniques can help to approximate areas of odd shapes accurately and quickly.

Learning Intention

Areas of composite shapes involving triangles and rectangles Areas of irregular shapes using 'counting squares' method Areas of irregular shapes using 'counting squares and triangles'
