Plotting points on the Cartesian plane

Reason For Learning

The Cartesian plane is a grid used to plot points. The convention for labelling points shown in this learning bite is useful when describing location. That's because it provides a common language to describe where the points are.

Learning Intention

The x-axis is the horizontal axis and the y-axis is vertical. Plotting points in the first quadrant, leading to plotting in the other three quadrants as an extension if students know about negative numbers.
