Ratios: Map Scales

Reason For Learning

Scales are used to draw pictures or plans of large things on paper. By using a scale, you can then see the relationship between the position of objects and the distances between locations. Converting between a scaled picture and real life is an important skill in order to make sense of plans and maps. Map and plan scales are expressed as ratios.
