There are many phrases that we need when we are asking for food, ordering food, buying food and preparing food. You need to become familiar and aware of these words and phrases.

When you are out with your family walk into a restaurant of the country and ask them for a menu, this will in most cases give insight into what are considered authentic dishes. (Please note try not to go when the restaurant is busy as then may not appreciate it.)

Each country will have their own way to cook things and way in which they prepare things. Try looking at what produce is only found in your country. Also find some authentic recipes and compare them to the different ways people make them using you tube.

Put together a dialogue between you and a waiter at a restaurant demonstrating the culturally correct way to dine at a restaurant using the target language.

Each country will have there own way to cook things and way inwhich they prepare things. Try looking at what produce is only found in your country. Also find some authentic recipes and compare them to the different ways people make them using youtube.

Make a list of phrases that you would need to have to be able to order food and beverages at a restaurant. Please also refer to the culture part of ordering food as this is also very important. Make sure that the dishes (for the purpose of this activity) are also authentic to the country you are studying.
