Unit 2 - Properties, Uses & production of Nitogen, Oxygen & Carbon Dioxide (ARCHIVE)

Reason For Learning

In this learning bite you will come to understand more about the way in which we live and move in a cloud of gases. You will discover just what these gases are and how they interact with one another and with the organisms on Earth.

Learning Intention

At the end of this learning bite you will• Examine the atmosphere and the ways in which it interacts with living things, including nitrogen-?xation, combustion, photosynthesis, respiration and atmospheric pollution • learn about the noble gases, their position on the periodic table and their properties and uses • consider the properties, uses and commercial production of the gases nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide • study the laboratory preparation and collection of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases, with associated chemical equations, and the tests used to identify them
